To hold them back or start them in school.

My children were premature, they were in fact two months early, all along we have said we are going to not start them in PRE K this year, however now I am starting to change my mind and think maybe they are ready. How do you know for certain that children are ready for school?

Well it is only a decision you can make.
I wouldn't be in to much of a hurry to send them to school before they are 5 but that is personal opnion.

My son was born 6 weeks early and he found school a problem as he was too young.
We ended up homeschooling all of our kids after they had been in school for a couple of years.
However all kids are different and some may be ready.

i would say if they are showing signs of being bored at home, if they enjoy interaction with other kids, and they are able to concentrate for periods of time they are possibly ready.
