Peanut Butter Bees

by Julie

This is a recipe for cute peanut-butter honey bees that involves no cooking and few ingredients.
They quick to make, and are a great high-energy snack to be enjoyed after school or any time of day.
The proportions of the ingredients below are approximate, and can be adjusted to taste:
In a large bowl, mix with your hands half a cup of peanut butter with a quarter cup of honey. You may add ground flax seed into the mixture for an even healthier twist, and to make the mixture less sticky.
Next, shape pieces of the mixture into balls with your hands, and flatten them into egg shapes. These will be the bees' bodies. The bees should be about 2 cm long, and 1.5 cm wide.
Use a toothpick dipped in cocoa powder to impress three dark stripes along the tops of the bee shapes.
Stick two slivered almonds into the sides of the bees for wings.
Refrigerate the bees on a tray of wax paper until they are firm to the touch

simple and wonderful!

I'm so happy you have this recipe! I used to make it at a friends' house when we were kids, and have been searching for it, but most googled recipes involve loads of other (junk) ingredients. Thanks!
