Problem Solving Advice
Keep an eraser handy.Get your kids to have a go at a maze ensuring they know what they are trying to do.
Next encourage them if they get stuck point them in the right direction - usually we can look ahead further than they can.
Just a little perseverence will pay off.
Doing mazes can be quite addictive as long as the ones they attempt are do-able for them.
Word Puzzle Resources
As mentioned above- something to draw with
- something to correct mistakes with
- a stable surface and good lighting!
Setting Up
As for word puzzles not much setting up is required...just a comfy quiet place and of course spare time (try getting the telly off ).Competition
How about challenging them to a bit of competition? Give them an easy one and do a hard one yourself, then say GO and see who finishes first. If you want to get the whole family involved - print off a few sheets of each and all have a go.Forums
