LIST OF CHILDREN'S BOOKS

BEST BOOKS FOR CHILDREN AND BOOK REVIEWS FOR CHILDRENS BOOKS

We thought we would put together a list of children's books. Our children have always loved books. It is great though to get a recommendation. There are some great classics out there for kids but also some really good modern authors.

You can help us to add to this list of children's books by adding your recommendations, your reviews, and your comments about the books listed.

If you homeschool this would also be a great place to list those books that have helped you homeschool.

Richard Scarry's Best First Book Ever

All our kids loved this book. It is suitable for young children to look at with their parents from about 2

Each page is full of detailed illustrations of everyday items and their names.

Every page has every item labeled in a variety of situations and places: home, the kitchen, the living room, the laundry room, school, the grocery store, an ice cream parlor, and so forth. It also introduces the basic parts of the body, color theory and counting.

It is a great tool for vocabulary building

CS Lewis - The Lion The Witch And The Wardrobe

The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (1950) is a children's fantasy novel, the first and best-known in C. S. Lewis's Chronicles of Narnia. During World War II, four siblings are sent from London to a house in the country, where they are drawn into a magical world ruled by an evil witch.

This is a really well written book it's amazing how vividly the characters and places come to life My son loved this being read aloud whilst he visualized the story in his mind.

Another reviewer states that "It's not rose-colored-glasses children's literature--it's powerful, moving, and worth multiple reads."
