Giving Time - Teaching Skills for Life
Children of all ages should have chores.

Chores are a good way to teach children responsibility.
I had them as a child and so did all my siblings. My children are now four years old, four year old triplets. All three of them have chores. And I will never separate chores by sex, my boys will always be required to do as much work in the house as they are outside the house and same for my girls.
Growing up I was required to cut grass, move fire wood etc, and wash dishes, laundry and clean house. My children will do the same thing. They will not be paid for chores, they will get an allowance, however it will not be based on their chores.
Chores, in my believe, help prepare children for real life and teaches them how to take care of them selves, their belongings and will help them once they are out on their on.
A boy who never learns to cook will be out of luck when he moves out of the house and a girl who never learns to take care of the yard will have problems as well. Chores are a fundamental part of growing up and it is my believe that without them children will grow up expecting everything to just happen for them, which is not reality.
